2. Excision. A qualified surgeon (dermatologic) removes the tattoo design by using a special scalpel. If the tattoo design is a big one the surgeon may elect to do a skin graft where skin is taken from another part of the body, such as the thigh.
3. Cryosurgery. Much like having dental work done, the tattoo ink area is frozen before its removal;
4. Laser. First the surface area of the skin is cleaned so the skin’s oil is removed. As the laser is removing your tattoo design you can hear the sound of a laser and fans working. Fans are used to cut back on the heat in the room. You can feel the light from the laser break through the skin layers. The process itself is not really painless, it may burn and sting.
