What You Need:

  • 1/4 C olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (28 oz) can tomato puree
  • 3 T dry red wine
  • 1 t honey
  • 2 t dried oregano
  • 1 t dried basil
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/8 t pepper

How to Make It:

  1. Place the oil in the bottom of a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. When the oil is hot add the garlic.
  3. Sauté 1 minute or just until it starts to sizzle.
  4. Pour in the tomato puree and the red wine.
  5. Stir well.
  6. Add the honey and stir until well mixed.
  7. Carefully stir in the oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  8. Cook the sauce for 20 minutes or until heated through being sure to stir occasionally.
