What You Need:
- 1/4 C olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (28 oz) can tomato puree
- 3 T dry red wine
- 1 t honey
- 2 t dried oregano
- 1 t dried basil
- 1/4 t salt
- 1/8 t pepper
How to Make It:
- Place the oil in the bottom of a large saucepan over medium heat.
- When the oil is hot add the garlic.
- Sauté 1 minute or just until it starts to sizzle.
- Pour in the tomato puree and the red wine.
- Stir well.
- Add the honey and stir until well mixed.
- Carefully stir in the oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the sauce for 20 minutes or until heated through being sure to stir occasionally.
